Short answer
June and September are the best months, with highs of 23–24°C, warm lake water and fewer crowds than midsummer. July and August are hottest (about 28°C) and driest, with only 4–7 rainy days, but also busiest and priciest. Winter is quiet and chilly, with highs of 7–9°C, and many lakeside places close.

Spring (Mar–May)
Highs rise from about 9°C in March to 20°C in May, with 9–13 rainy days a month; good for churches and walks, but the lake is still cold.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Highs of 24–28°C and lows of 16–19°C, with only 4–10 rainy days a month; swimming season, festival nights and the biggest crowds.
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
September is still warm at about 23°C, with 7 rainy days; October cools to 18°C and November to 13°C, with more rain.

Highs of 7–9°C and lows of 1–4°C; quiet, with many lakeside restaurants and boats closed.

When to avoid
If you want quiet and lower prices, avoid late July and August. From November to March many lakeside places close and boats to St Naum may not run.
