Tips

Common questions

How long is the ferry from Mykonos to Tinos?

High-speed boats take about 20 to 35 minutes, and conventional ferries roughly 30 to 60 minutes. It is one of the shortest crossings in the Cyclades. Times vary by vessel and route, since many boats call at Tinos on their way to or from Piraeus or Rafina.

Can I do a day trip from Mykonos to Tinos?

Yes. With morning and afternoon sailings in summer, a day trip is easy. You can visit Tinos town and the Church of Panagia Evangelistria on foot, or rent a car to see the marble villages such as Pyrgos. Check the last return sailing before planning your day.

Is there a flight from Mykonos to Tinos?

No. Tinos has no airport, so the ferry is the only way. The crossing is short, and in summer there are several departures a day run by different companies, so it is not a limitation in practice. If you fly into Mykonos, you can be on Tinos within an hour or two of landing.

Do I need to book the ferry in advance?

For foot passengers outside August, buying a ticket a day ahead or even on the day usually works. In peak season, and for cars on conventional ferries, booking in advance is safer. Keep in mind that bad weather can cancel high-speed sailings, so allow some flexibility.
