Why visit Nha Trang?

Nha Trang is a beach city on Vietnam's south-central coast, with a six-kilometre sandy beach along a curving bay backed by mountains and dotted with islands. It is one of Vietnam's main seaside resorts, with a long promenade, hotels and plenty of seafood restaurants.

The Po Nagar Cham Towers, built between the 7th and 12th centuries by the Cham kingdom, stand on a hill above the Cai River. Long Son Pagoda has a large white seated Buddha overlooking the city, and the neo-Gothic Nha Trang Cathedral is built from stone blocks. Boat trips visit the islands of the bay, including Hon Mun, a marine protected area for snorkelling and diving. Relax in mud baths and hot springs at Thap Ba, and take the boat to the resort island of Hon Tre. The Alexandre Yersin Museum remembers the scientist who lived here. Eat bun cha ca (fish cake noodle soup), nem nuong grilled pork rolls and fresh seafood.
